Axalta Coating Systems Sponsors First State Robotics and Awards Scholarship

Scholarship winner Noah Andrews and some of his team members provided a robotics demonstration at Axalta's North American headquarters, where he was presented with his scholarship.

Through its sponsorship of First State Robotics of Delaware and the Miracles of Engineering (MOE) First Tech Challenge team, Axalta Coating Systems awarded a scholarship to robotics team member Noah Andrews. Andrews recently graduated from high school and is looking forward to starting college in the fall as an information technology major, focusing on security.

“First State Robotics is delighted that Axalta shares our support and enthusiasm for STEM education, and we look forward to a long relationship with them,” said Peggy Vavalla, First State Robotics board chairman. “In addition to providing a grant to the MOE team this year, we applaud their continuing support of providing scholarship opportunities for students who have participated on any local FIRST Tech Challenge teams. These scholarships help team members attain their goal of attending college and further utilizing the many other skills and values they learned as a member of FIRST.”

Andrews and some of his robotics team members provided a robotics demonstration at Axalta’s North American headquarters where Andrews was presented with his scholarship.

“It is a pleasure for us to invest in the engineers of tomorrow,” said Nigel Budden, Axalta vice president and head of its North American business. “The First State Robotics organization and the MOE team are examples of young minds preparing and nurturing for a brilliant future. Axalta believes in hiring and retaining the brightest talent, and the robotics students are an example of the benefits of early training and dedication. We look forward to their joining the workforce one day.”
