Elektron Donates Two Plasma Cutters to Collision Repair Education Foundation Schools

Elektron Inc. has donated two Elektron PC 30 Plasma Cutters to the Collision Repair Education Foundation (formerly the I-CAR Education Foundation). One plasma cutter will be given to Bridgerland Applied Technology College (Logan, Utah), the winner of the 2010 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant, and the other will be given to Tennessee Technology Center (Crump, Tenn.), which also applied for the 2010 Makeover grant. The plasma cutters are valued at $4,500 each.

“Being in the collision industry since the age of 14 and a product of technical education, I feel it’s important that students start with the correct tools and are educated in real world training experience so they’re ready to enter the workforce with good working talents and proper work habits,” said Tim Morgan, Celette Inc. and Elektron Inc. general manager. “Now, 34 years later, I’m in a position to give back to education.”

Scott Kruger, Collision Repair Education Foundation executive director, added, “Tim Morgan and everyone at Elektron was in attendance at SEMA when the foundation announced the 2011 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover winner. It was exciting to bring the winning school’s instructor, Kevin Cornia, immediately over to the Elektron booth and hand him a new plasma cutter for his school. It was a special moment where everyone got to see firsthand what Elektron’s and the industry’s support and investment in collision education means to these instructors and students. The foundation is also thankful to Elektron for stepping up and donating an additional plasma cutter to one of the other makeover applicant schools that requested the item as part of their $50,000 grant wish list.”
