Daren Fristoe, president of The Fristoe Group, a firm specializing in outsourced Human Resource services, announced his company’s five-year anniversary.
“As a company and personally, it gives me great pleasure to announce this milestone,” said Fristoe. “In spite of a challenging economy, our client base and provided services have grown steadily through these first five years. Small and mid-sized businesses turned to us for the kind of training and services usually available only at larger firms provided by an in-house Human Resource department. This leveled the playing field, making them more attractive to job seekers, more operationally cost effective and more competitive in the marketplace.”
During the last five years, The Fristoe Group has conducted platform training for over 1,000 people and provided Human Resource products and services across a dozen distinct industries.
"With training and compliance counseling in effective interviewing, communication, hiring, performance management, employee development, progressive discipline, documentation and coaching, to name a few, the need crosses industry boundaries," said Fristoe. "Governmentally mandated Human Resource compliance is no respecter of industry, so from mining to food service, airlines to body shops, all businesses need to follow strict guidelines regarding human capital."
In addition to the traditional Human Resource topics, The Fristoe Group also focuses on the dramatic changes in the workplace environment, especially as it relates to generational shifts in employees and management.
"Our workplace is experiencing rapid personnel-related challenges now, in parallel to ongoing technological advances," said Fristoe. "The increasing mix of ‘Baby Boomers’ and ‘Gen X’ and ‘Gen Y’ employees among the daily workforce means management must learn to manage differently, understanding and coaching performance for 3 very distinct groups of people with different motivators, agendas and social mores. We help managers adapt to this new management style."
The underlying mission for The Fristoe Group, according to Fristoe, is to create systems and processes designed to minimize the worry for the owners and operators of businesses as it relates to their employees.
"It’s all about sustainability. By building a professional Human Resource function within the four walls of any business, the owner can focus on doing what they do best – making a profit," he said.
Fristoe has authored numerous magazine, virtual resource articles and conducted streaming podcasts on the subject and is co-authoring a book to be released early this year. Taking a look at some of the humor in an otherwise very serious subject, Fristoe and his co-author, Julia McKee, J.D., will explore everything from hiring in the social media age to legal and compliance issues, employee relations, training and terminations.
"The Human Resource profession continues to evolve, and there is truly no shortage of stories, uncomfortable as they may be, about how we handle life in business today," said Fristoe. "With my perspective from the corporate world of Human Resources and Julia’s extensive experience as an employment attorney, we approach these situations with fun and with valuable takeaways for the reader. It is a powerful combination that we are excited about and look forward to the release."
