I-CAR Ed. Foundation Offering $50,000 in Scholarships with AkzoNobel, CCC

As part of the scholarships available fall 2009, the I-CAR Education Foundation will offer scholarships on behalf of AkzoNobel and CCC Information Services. Each company has provided funding to the Education Foundation in order to reward students studying collision repair and allow them the opportunity to continue their education.

For the seventh consecutive year, the I-CAR Education Foundation – in conjunction with AkzoNobel and “The Most Influential Women of the Collision Repair Industry” – is offering a scholarship opportunity for female collision repair students to promote both the increasing importance of a skilled and educated workforce as well as to recognize the increasing leadership roles and growing opportunities for women in the industry.

This year, $25,000 will be awarded for the AkzoNobel scholarship. In total, there will be two $5,000 winners: one winner from a secondary school and one winner from a post-secondary school. In addition, there will be six additional $2,500 scholarships offered.

For the fourth consecutive year, the I-CAR Education Foundation, in conjunction with CCC Information Services Inc., is offering a scholarship for students wanting to further their education in the collision repair field. The CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship, renamed in 2007 to honor longtime CCC team member Michael Salvatore, will assist a student in paying tuition at a post-secondary institution and in purchasing the tools required to enhance their educational experience.

The CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Student Repair Technician Scholarship will award $25,000 in scholarships this year. There will be five $5,000 winners.

“These are extraordinary scholarship opportunities that will certainly give a deserving collision repair student a head start on his or her career,” said Scott Kruger, I-CAR Education Foundation executive director. “We are very proud to be hosting these opportunities of behalf of both CCC Information Services and AkzoNobel and thank them for their generosity.”

All scholarship winners will be announced at the first Annual I-CAR Education Foundation Donor Recognition Reception to be held this November at NACE.
