I-CAR has announced that Robert Renwick was named a recipient of this year’s New Zealand Royal Honor, which is awarded by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to recognize and thank those who have served in the spirit of the New Zealand character. Renwick received recognition as member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to the collision repair industry.
I-CAR New Zealand was formed in 1987 and has flourished over the last 25-plus years with Renwick as part of its leadership team. His involvement with the New Zealand Motor Industry Training Organization (NZMITO) has allowed the opportunity for I-CAR training and materials to form the basis for apprentice collision repair training.
“Robert’s long-standing dedication to collision repair training in New Zealand has made his contributions to the I-CAR family and the inter-industry at large very valuable," said Bill Stage, I-CAR’s senior director of segment development. "His personal efforts to educate his countrymen will be an important part of his legacy. We’re pleased to congratulate Robert for earning this distinguished recognition.”
In 2005, Renwick was awarded the Chairman’s Award, which is bestowed on an individual who has made significant or extraordinary contributions to the I-CAR organization. The individual is selected by the I-CAR executive committee, and the award is presented by the chairman of the International Board of Directors.
In addition to his professional accolades, Renwick, according to I-CAR, is respected in the industry as an "ethical, forthright, well-liked member of the I-CAR family."
