New Professional Enrichment Series Highlights ASRW Education

New educational sessions aim to provide essential "life skills" training, including improving your personal magnetism and public speaking skills.

A new series of educational sessions called the Professional Enrichment Series, aimed at providing essential “life skills” training, is now available within the education program at Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW). ASRW will take place Thursday and Friday, Oct. 17-18, with education beginning Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The Professional Enrichment Series will take place Thursday, Oct. 17, and consists of two 90-minute sessions. Each session will be held at 10 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m., and may be taken independently or as a set. The sessions include:

Charisma – Increasing Your Personal Magnetism at Work and Home

Speaker: Margie Seyfer, Impact Presentations

Summary: We really do like our own personal style best and wonder why people can’t be more like us. This fast-paced session will have you laughing, understanding why differences are good. Attendees will also take away tools to increase their personal effectiveness with employees, family members and customers.

"Our automotive repair business uses these tools every day to communicate with customers. People buy from people they like! And they are not all ‘like’ us," said Seyfer.

Public Speaking – Getting Through the Fear to Accomplish Greatness!

Speaker: Steve Beck, Beck & Associates

Summary: This public speaking session starts off with 24 ways to an effective presentation, and then participants get to give different presentations. This session is fun, action-packed and filled with activities.

“The topics covered in the Professional Enrichment Series are applicable, relevant and helpful to everyone – skills each one of us can use and benefit from in our professional and personal lives,” said Dan Risley, ASA executive director. “It’s a new type of educational training we haven’t offered in the recent past, and in a year where we’re focused on providing value and a great experience for all participants at ASRW, we are excited to add these sessions to the existing conference program.”

The Professional Enrichment Series sessions are listed under “Add-On Education” and can be selected when registering online at www.ASRWevents.com. Each session is $80 and can be purchased online or on-site at the show.
