CARSTAR announced that this Veterans Day, Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor and Progressive will be donating a 2014 Kia Sorrento to a local veteran as part of the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program. The donation is part of Progressive’s one-day, countrywide event called Keys to Progress.

The recipient of the Keys to Progress vehicle is Jorge Rodriquez, who served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years as a medical corpsman to the Marines and Navy. Rodriquez, called “Doc” by his crew, did tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq and survived three separate IED explosions. The vehicle will give Rodriquez, who is married with two daughters, independence to continue to live his life to the fullest.

Owner Peter Gutska and his staff at Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor have restored the vehicle, donated by Progressive, with the help of additional partners including Balise Auto Group, Columbia Ford, Keystone Automotive, LKQ Corp and Tech Zone Airbag Service. The donation will take place Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at the Progressive Service Center in Newington, Conn.
