SCRS to Host Affiliate Association Conference Calls

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) is undertaking an initiative that will allow its 36 state affiliate associations (affiliates) to communicate via conference calls.  The calls will be held on the first Tuesday of every other month and begin on Feb. 3. The calls will start at 3 p.m. EST and last no more than one hour.

The purpose of these calls will primarily be to allow affiliates to share information and ideas on topics important to the successful operation and initiatives of individual state associations.

Each call will be limited to one main topic to ensure that the issue is thoroughly discussed. However, on occasion, the group may set aside time for important topical issues facing the industry. The topics have been identified through review of the previous Affiliate Leadership Conference questionnaires and presentations, as well as a recent mailing to all SCRS affiliates requesting their input.

The dates and topics are listed below:

• Feb. 3 – Membership: retention and growth

• April 7 – Association funding and budgeting

• June 2 – Government relations and lobbying

• Aug. 4 – Communications and publications

• Oct. 6 – Member benefits, training and seminars

• Dec. 1 – Organization structure and by-laws

Prior to each call, affiliate members will receive an expanded agenda within the confines of each topic, along with the number to call to participate in the conference.

For more information, contact SCRS board member Steve Regan by e-mail at [email protected] or call the SCRS office (877) 841-0660.
