Property and casualty insurance provider Zurich announced that it will host a Health and Safety Roundtable open to all members of the collision repair industry. The Oct. 7 seminar will be held at Zurich’s North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill. and will offer attendees the opportunity to discuss safety challenges and share best practice solutions with the goal of reducing risk within the industry.
“Zurich developed a complete education program focused on reducing risk and injuries within the collision repair industry,” said Armand Fernandez, head of Risk Engineering for Zurich Services Corporation. “We worked closely with our customer, Sterling Autobody Centers, to develop a program that provides the opportunity to benchmark safety programs, review risk reports and analyze industry data that can be used by industry members to rate their own performance and identify specific areas for improvement.”
Roundtable topics include:
Material handling preventing technician injuries
Slip, trip and fall prevention
Safety training, including learning management systems and other methods
An open forum for any issues or concerns specific to those attending
Those attending the day-long roundtable will take part in a forum providing a better understanding of issues and trends that affect the health and safety of their businesses. Zurich says the roundtable format provides the opportunity to network with industry specialists and learn through an interchange on current and future trends, “next-level” implementation strategies and practical insights.
“We all have a vested interest in helping our current and potential customers provide the safest environment possible for their employees,” said Rick Pokorny, Risk Engineering regional field team leader for Zurich Services Corporation. “Those with safety-related responsibilities, as well as those in the finance and human resource side of the business, should find the roundtable discussion beneficial in reducing the risk and improving safety and health practices within their business.”
Dan Lajoie, assistant vice president, Store Administration for Sterling Autobody Centers said, “We are pleased to have developed a safety network within our own organization that has included Zurich. As a Zurich customer for workers compensation and garage keepers liability coverage, Sterling has benefited from this relationship with dramatic risk reduction and reduced on-the-job injuries. We believe that by sharing information, we can all learn from each other and continue to improve our own businesses, while making our workplaces safer for industry employees.”
Zurich customers can attend the seminar at no charge. All other collision industry guests are invited to attend for a $100 fee. Space is limited. To make reservations, call Jolene Carroll at (866) 777-9768, or e-mail to [email protected].
