Axalta Coating Systems to Display 1932 Ford Coupe at Goodguys 24th Heartland Nationals

Axalta representatives will be on hand to display automotive art created with their global refinish brands Cromax, Standox and Spies Hecker, as well as the Hot Hues line of custom colors.

beckers-ford-coupeAxalta Coating Systems announced it will be supporting the Goodguys 24th Heartland Nationals at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa July 3-5. The paint manufacturer will be cruisin’ into Des Moines with a 1932 Ford Coupe, built by Dave Lane for Phil Becker and painted with Axalta’s Cromax brand paint.

This event is one of the top five Goodguys’ events of the year. The big red, white and blue holiday weekend features more than 4,000 1972 and earlier hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks and classics that will be on display. Builders and enthusiasts will gather beachside to network, develop ideas and answer the all-important question, “What color should I paint my new project car?”

Axalta representatives will be on hand to offer show attendees examples of automotive art that’s created with its global refinish brands Cromax, Standox and Spies Hecker, as well as the Hot Hues line of custom colors.

Axalta will also be promoting its recently announced 2015 Paint Outside the Can Contest, which is an invitation to unleash creativity using any Axalta-branded coating system to paint and decorate an unused, standard one-gallon paint can. Auto body paint repair requires skills such as problem solving, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and time management, and so Axalta organized the contest to give its body shop customers an opportunity to use these skills in a fun, creative way and support their inner artists.

Submissions will be recognized and displayed via certain social media channels throughout the contest. At the end of the contest, which closes Sept. 15, 2015, six “Celebrity Picks” will be selected by industry celebrities who will vote for their favorites based on creativity, execution and degree of difficulty. In addition, six “Fan Favorites” will be chosen by fans based on the number of photo “likes” that these favorites receive on Axalta’s Instagram page. Finally, one “Best-in-Show” grand prize winner will be selected from the six “Celebrity Picks.” To learn more, visit the contest website.
