China’s Largest Insurance Company Provides Its First CAPA-Certified Parts in China

The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) announced that the largest property and casualty insurer in China recently made more than 150 CAPA-certified part numbers available.

The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) announced that the largest property and casualty insurer in China recently made more than 150 CAPA-certified part numbers available.

Concurrently, the People’s Insurance Company of China (PICC) announced the launch of its e-commerce platform to facilitate distribution of the parts in China. The certified part types include hoods, fenders, grilles and bumper covers, according to CAPA.

In November 2016, CAPA and PICC joined the China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association Collision Repair Committee and Intertek Shanghai in signing a strategic agreement “to bring diverse areas of expertise to the China market.”

Intertek Shanghai, the certification body of the CAPA program in China, “played a significant role in implementing the agreement after members of CAPA’s board visited principals in Beijing,” CAPA noted.

“This is another major milestone for CAPA as we continue to support the certification of quality parts in China,” said Jack Gillis, CAPA executive director.

Added Debbie Klouser, CAPA director of operations: “We applaud PICC for leading the way to make high-quality CAPA-certified parts available to Chinese consumers.”
