Sherwin-Williams Provides $60,000 Product Donation to Ultimate Collision Education Makeover Schools

Paint manufacturer also donates paint for collision shop walls of the two 2012 makeover-winning schools to add to professional appearance of students' learning environment.

Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes has donated more than $60,000 in products to several schools involved with the Collision Repair Education Foundation’s 2012 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant program. The schools that requested Sherwin-Williams products as part of their makeover application include: Sarasota County Technical Institute (Sarasota, Fla.), Freedom High School (Freedom, Wis.) and Applied Technology Center (Rock Hill, S.C.).

Sherwin-Williams also donated paint for the collision shop walls of the two 2012 makeover-winning schools, Nichols Career Center (Jefferson City, Mo.) and Manhattan Area Technical College (Manhattan, Kan.), to add to the professional appearance of the students’ learning environment.

“Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes believes in supporting secondary and post-secondary educational facilities so that they can better their programs, which help to make well-educated students into employees in our industry,” said Rodney Habel, director of training for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes.

Added Collision Repair Education Foundation Executive Director Clark Plucinski, “The Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant program has been a great success only through the generosity of our industry supporters as we are able to fulfill the specific requests from the applicant schools. Sherwin-Williams has donated products to makeover applicant schools every year since the makeover program’s inception in 2009. Whether it’s the winning school or other applicant schools that specifically asked for Sherwin-Williams items as part of their application, the company has come to their aid year after year. It’s through our supporters, such as Sherwin-Williams, that collision instructors are able to work towards providing a proper, current technical education to the repair students.”
