Automotive Recyclers Association Hires Dwight Howard

Automotive Recyclers Association Adds Key Industry Professional

Dwight Howard brings more than 30 years of automotive recycling experience to the association.

The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), representing an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of “green” automotive parts, announced the selection of Dwight Howard to the positions of director of industry relations for ARA and consultant for ARA’s for-profit subsidiary, ARA Product Services.

“Dwight is a dynamic individual who has extensive professional automotive recycling experience that will support the advancement of a number of important ARA initiatives,” said Michael E. Wilson, CEO of ARA.

Howard has previously worked as an account executive with Hollander and as director of supplier relations for APU Solutions for several years. He has wide-ranging experience within the professional automotive recycling sector and held numerous positions over the course of a decade with GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers, including roles in the business development, training and bulk/international sales areas of the business.

In his new capacity as consultant for ARA Product Services, Howard’s portfolio will focus on continuing to grow ARADirect, the online salvage vehicle auction platform launched by ARA Product Services in 2013.

“Dwight is well known industry-wide for his passion for the automotive recycling industry and delivering superior results in his past professional roles,” said Chris Wright, ARA Product Services president. “We are excited to have him on board as he will be a true asset for ARA members.”

Since 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of “green” automotive parts, and the proper recycling of inoperable motor vehicles. ARA represents the interests of more than 4,500 auto recycling facilities in the U.S. and fourteen other countries around the world. With programs such as the Certified Automotive Recycler Program (CAR), Green Recycled Parts and other partnerships, ARA members continue to provide consumers with quality, low-cost alternatives for vehicle replacement parts, while preserving our environment for a “greener” tomorrow.
