The Insurance Journal reported that two more insurers, USAA and AIG, have been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to test the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, for their business.
According to the Insurance Journal, USAA wants to test how drones may help speed the review of insurance claims following natural disasters. USAA is now able to fly U.S.-based PrecisionHawk drones during the day within line-of-sight of a trained pilot or air crew. No aircraft will be allowed to exceed an altitude of 400 feet, and all flights must be reported to the FAA prior to takeoff.
State Farm was cleared for drone testing back in March.
