Auto Care Association Releases 2016 Digital Collision Repair Trends Report

The report highlights the size and scope of the U.S. collision industry and includes analyses of factors influencing the collision industry, automotive collision insurance coverage and DRPs.

auto-care-association-logoThe Auto Care Association has released the 2016 Digital Collision Repair Trends report, an online 70-page analysis of data compiled from primary Auto Care Association research, federal government and independent research data sources. The report highlights the size and scope of the U.S. collision industry, including the paint, body and equipment (PBE) segment, with a brief analysis of the Canadian collision industry. It also includes analyses of factors influencing the collision industry, automotive collision insurance coverage and DRPs.

According to this year’s report, traffic deaths, totaling 29,867 fatal collisions in 2011 (the lowest ever), have increased by 10 percent to 32,317 in 2013. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) attributes the recent increased fatalities to human error, such as failure to wear a seatbelt, drunk driving and other factors. Nonetheless, in recent years, road travel has become progressively safer from the plethora of built-in vehicle safety features that include lane departure warnings, anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control.

The online report provides added value with many new functional enhancements. Users can:

  • Download Excel-based files, charts, tables, and graphs that can be copied and pasted for presentations
  • Turn pages with the click of a mouse
  • View pages in a variety of sizes and formats
  • Quickly locate data through a “word search” feature
  • Save material for future reference through the “bookmarks” feature
  • Print the entire publication

Copies of the new 2016 Digital Collision Repair Trends report are now available for $125 for Auto Care Association members and $250 for nonmembers. The report can be ordered online at www.autocare.org/market-intelligence or by contacting member services at (301) 654-6664 or [email protected].
