House of Kolor is looking for next year’s “Prestigious Painters.” The custom coatings brand is accepting submissions through Sept. 1, 2016, for its class of 2017 winners. The Prestigious Painter Award is a coveted title that has been given to the top 12 painters in the industry for the past 17 years. The competition is open to anyone whose custom projects are painted exclusively with House of Kolor products.

Entries can be, but are not exclusive to, street rods, custom cars and trucks, motorcycles, airbrush panels, musical instruments and other passenger vehicles such as boats and planes.

“Painters are hard workers who often times don’t get recognized, so this is our way of letting them know we appreciate what they do,” said Jon Kosmoski, founder of House of Kolor. “There are so many talented people out there using our products, and we want to showcase the best of the best.”

Kosmoski, a world-renowned painter, founded House of Kolor in 1956.

All entries will be judged by a panel of custom designers and painters, customizers and customizing enthusiasts. Winners will be chosen based on finish quality, technique, design creativity and artistic merit.

“The purpose of this contest is to recognize the outstanding creativity and craftsmanship of artists around the world who use House of Kolor products,” said Gina Mahan, brand manager, House of Kolor. “Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a full-time refinisher, we want to recognize you as one of the elite.”

To qualify for the Prestigious Painter Award, contestants must be 18 years of age or older and own or have refinished the vehicle to be entered. The vehicle must be finished exclusively with House of Kolor products.

Winners will be featured in the House of Kolor Prestigious Painter Award Calendar for 2017 and will have the opportunity to make an appearance with their vehicle for House of Kolor at selected trade shows throughout the year.
