NABC Names GEICO Winner of 2023 President’s Award

The President's Award recognizes the NABC member company who supports the vision of the NABC through donation of their time and resources.

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) announced that it has named GEICO the recipient of the 2023 NABC President’s Award, which formally recognizes the NABC member company who supports the vision of the NABC through donation of their time and resources.

GEICO was selected by the NABC board of directors for its ongoing, strong support of the NABC and its programs, including milestones such as:

  • Longtime Level One member of the NABC
  • Donated more than 700 vehicles to Recycled Rides
  • Contributed some 75 vehicles to First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.) training
  • Active supporters of NABC fundraising events and serves on various NABC committees
  • Has already committed some 200 vehicles to Recycled Rides for 2024

“For more than a decade, GEICO and the NABC have partnered together to donate vehicles through the NABC Recycled Rides Program, and I’m proud that we’ve had the opportunity to donate more than 700 refurbished vehicles to organizations and individuals in need,” said Frank Pickering, head of physical damage for field operations for GEICO. “Through Recycled Rides, we know firsthand that a little kindness can go a long way, and we look forward to partnering with NABC to continue creating equitable opportunities for those in need.”

GEICO is recognized on the lifetime traveling trophy, which was presented at the GEICO regional office in Lakeland, Fla. In addition, the NABC will make contributions to the National Association for Black Veterans in their honor.

“It is our honor to present the 2023 NABC President’s Award to GEICO in recognition of their many contributions to the NABC and our programs,” said Scott Sampley, chairman of the NABC board of directors. “They have contributed three times the vehicles to the NABC Recycled Rides program than any other vehicle donor, an incredible commitment to providing reliable transportation to those in need. In addition, they donate vehicles to the NABC FREE program to help first responders learn advanced rescue techniques that make us all safer on the road. They are an incredible company and an amazing partner for the NABC.”
