Team PRP, the largest national network of independent auto recyclers, has announced that Brandywine Automotive Parts, headquartered in Brandywine, Md., joined its network on July 15. Brandywine’s 11 facilities located throughout Maryland and Virginia increase Team PRP’s network to 130 members. Brandywine becomes Team PRP’s first partner in Maryland. In addition, Brandywine serves Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. areas.
“We welcome the Brandywine group to Team PRP," said Kent Rothwell, owner of Weaver Parts and chair of Team PRP’s national board. "They have been an integral part of the automotive parts industry for over 80 years, and their constant commitment to providing the customer with the best products and service backed by exceptional warranties is a perfect fit with the PRP vision. Their multiple locations allow us to provide excellent coverage in Maryland while strengthening our coverage in Northern Virginia and Maryland.”
Brandywine Automotive Parts was started in 1927 by the Meinhardt family. The company grew from a single gas station with towing service to 16 locations servicing the Washington Metropolitan area with more than 250 employees and thousands of cars dismantled every year. They’re a full-service auto recycler and new alternative parts provider focused on late-model cars, trucks and SUVs.
“Team PRP is a natural fit for our growth plan and provides opportunities for expansion in purchasing and selling to the other PRP members," said Woody Meinhardt, the current president of Brandywine Automotive Parts and part of the third-generation Meinhardt family ownership. "We also have access to PRP members’ nationwide inventory, which allows us to support our customers’ needs even more than we do now and allows us to continue to be competitive in the replacement parts environment. We’re also excited to have access to PRP’s other member benefits, including their additional product lines and training tools.”
